Well here goes..... Our first training run for the 'Absolutely Average C2C Tour 2009' - a ride along the Waskerley Way to Parkhead Station (Terry and Lorraine Turnbull,Parkhead Station House - B&B and Tea Rooms - Stanhope Moor - Stanhope - Co. Durham - DL13 2ES, Tel: 01388 526434)
After 10.5mls of steady uphill 'slog', avoiding C2C Mayhem !!! (a challenge ride coming in the opposite direction), heavy rain, we arrived at Parkhead Station and had a well earned rest and made good use of the facilities.... coffee, sandwiches and.....cake & custard.
With a smile on our faces we set off to cycle the return leg, mainly downhill with Basil & Ann leading the way.... (21mls total)
